Manifesto

The magic of childhood was never about being a child but about being present.

Without presence, there are no memories. No evidence of a life that's been lived in.

Our children are losing their childhood, humans are growing up stunted.

The weight of what they're losing will only settle in looking backwards.

They live in the world we built for them.

We are up against our most talented engineers, being paid millions to engineer away our attention spans.

Why is all our talent on the opposite side?

This is not news. We see the schoolchildren, we see commuters on the train.

We see Big Tech executives, standing up on their high stages, celebrating the millions of hours that have been scrolled.

Are they admitting it? Gloating? Or simply oblivious to the weight of what they're playing with?

We are losing lifetimes. We can't wait while they develop a conscience.

The problems are defining our generation. The solutions being offered are painfully surface level.

Screen time is an emotional problem.

Yarn is designed to untangle the emotional threads that cause us to reach for our phones, become aware of our hijacked impulses, and diagnose the root cause of our addictions. We are lacking an immune system to fight these devices. It's not a willpower deficiency. Within us all there is a wellspring of energy, a life force, latent potential lying dormant. We are deficient in introspection.

What if there was a power of equal magnitude on our side?

What if AI could end our phone addictions?

What if AI made us journal to unlock our apps? Journal about… Precious memories worth preserving. Small moments worth remembering. Impulses worth resisting. Friends worth cherishing. Questions worth asking.

We believe those who realize how lucky we are can't leave anyone behind.

We believe in creating a world hospitable to our past selves.
